SOCIAL THINKING CURRICULUM
What is Social Thinking?
Whenever we interact with people, we use social thinking. The way we think about people affects how we act and feel, which in turn affects how others respond to us.
Why Teach a Social Thinking Curriculum?
Each classroom is made up of a unique combination of personalities, backgrounds, and learning styles/needs. Using a social thinking curriculum helps to create a learning environment where children feel safe and comfortable with themselves and others. Each child learns about their individual strengths and weaknesses, then taught specific strategies to make good decisions to enhance learning. A child who feels accepted, respected, and cared for will be more responsive to the learning process.
